Claude Monet’s house and garden at Giverny outside Paris have been preserved with significant help from American benefactors. The garden and the famous lily pond from Monet’s water lily series still exist much as Monet left them.
This beautiful image looks across the lily pond towards a boatman raking weeds from the pond. Monet’s house may be seen in the background.
The image was captured on a still morning in early autumn.
Captured by Atticus Webb on a Zeiss Contax 645 medium format camera with a Zeiss wide telephoto 35 mm lens. The image was registered on a transparency using Fuji Velvia 100 ASA film. The image was scanned in high resolution by Bond Imaging
We recommend handfinishing on Ilfoflex high definition paper and mounting on aluminium (Dibond) to ensure museum standard presentation and conservation – this produces a spectacular finish which brings out the best in the paper. We also suggest framing with a charcoal mat under True-Vue AR Reflection Free glass which blocks 78% of UV light with less than 1% reflection.
