Lake Brienz, just north of the alps in central Switzerland, has many tourists but is still surrounded by idyllic Swiss dairy farms each keeping a small herd of cows in barns as they have done for centuries.  This farm appeared to have a herd of about eight cows and was located on the shore of the lake.   Autumn was still in evidence. 

TECHNICAL NOTES

The image was taken with a tripod-mounted Phase One 645 Camera at ISO 35.  The aperture was F22 with an exposure of 1/6 second.  150 mm Schneider Kreuznach telephoto lens with leaf shutter.   The image was captured on a Phase One IQ180 80 megapixel digital back.  The shadow areas have been opened using Capture One.
