Gruyeres, in South-West Switzerland is celebrated not simply for its world-famous cheese, but for its medieval village and great castle occupied by the Counts of Gruyeres for centuries. This image of the village and the church was captured from the ramparts of the castle.

The image was taken with a hand-held Phase One 645 Camera at ISO 200. The aperture was F4.8 with an exposure of 1/250 second. 45 mm Phase One lens. The image was captured on a Phase One IQ180 80 megapixel digital back. Shadow areas have been opened using Capture One.
