The area around Gruyeres, in South-West Switzerland is celebrated not simply for its cheese, but because it is a wonderland of traditional Swiss farms. This house and church is in the village of Rossinieres, south of Gruyeres.

The image was taken with a tripod-mounted Phase One 645 Camera at ISO 35. The aperture was F12 with an exposure of 1/2 second. 80 mm Schneider-Kreuznach lens with leaf shutter. The image was captured on a Phase One IQ180 80 megapixel digital back. Shadow areas have been opened using Capture One.
