ROSSINIERES, SWITZERLAND

Image Number 35

The area around Gruyeres, in South-West Switzerland is celebrated not simply for its cheese, but because it is a wonderland of traditional Swiss farms.  This house is the village of Rossinieres, south of Gruyeres.  Atticus Webb was struck by the patination of the timber which becomes dark in areas exposed to the weather but it bright in areas under cover.
