INSIDE A BLACK HMONG HOUSE

The Hmong are among the largest ethnic groups in Vietnam (about 1 mil. people). They mainly inhabit the mountainous area in the north near the chinese border.    This  image taken shows some of the implements, still typically hand carved, used by the Black Hmong to harvest their corn which is also stored in the rafters of their houses.

TECHNICAL NOTES

The image was taken with a tripod-mounted  Phase One 645 Camera at ISO 35. Exposure of 15 seconds and aperture F18.  45 mm Phase One lens with focal plane shutter.   The image was captured on a Phase One IQ180 80 megapixel digital back.   Although the image appears to have been shot in daylight, it was very dark inside the house, necessitating a very long exposure.
